Which page should you start with?

For children under 5, choose pages with one large subject, like a single tree or snowman. Ages 6 to 9 usually enjoy scenes with a few separate things to color, such as a gingerbread house with candy and a path. Teens and adults tend to like busier winter scenes, where there is room for shading.

What to color them with

Crayons cover big shapes quickly. Colored pencils are better for small details. Markers can soak through thin paper, so put a spare sheet underneath or print on heavier paper. Our printing guide has more on paper and settings.

Ways to use your finished pages

  • Fold a colored page into a holiday card.
  • Print a stack for the kids' table at a family dinner.
  • Hang finished pages on a window or on a string across a wall.
  • Cut them down into gift tags for small presents.

Printing tips

Print at 100% scale so nothing gets cropped. If your printer cuts off the edges, choose "fit to page". Draft mode saves ink, and thin black lines still come out clearly.

Questions about these pages

Are these Christmas coloring pages really free?

What size paper do they print on?

The PDFs are made for standard Letter and A4 paper.

Can I use them in a classroom or at a party?

Yes. Printing copies for a class, a family gathering or a party is fine, as long as you hand them out for free.
