No rules for monster colors
A monster can be green, but it can also be pink with blue spots or striped in three shades of purple. Nobody has seen a real one, so whatever you pick is right.
Make your own monster story
- Give each monster a name and a favorite snack.
- Ask kids what their monster is afraid of (usually something small and funny).
- Color two or three, cut them out, and let them act out a story.
- Use a finished page as a bedroom door sign.
Gentle spooky for small kids
If a child is sensitive to scary things, look through the pages first and pick the ones with the biggest smiles. They are meant to be silly rather than frightening.
